[ his daughter bites on the inside of her cheek as he speaks, halting in her eating once more as she soaks all of his words in like a sponge. this game of chess is really being weighed more on his side than hers, or at least, that's how this is feeling, and she continues to keep her head hanging low as she listens.
but after a little while, her shoulders seem to tremble, almost appearing maybe she could be either so enraged that she's shaking or so upset that she's sobbing. except it's neither of those. actually, jinx finds herself chuckling, and her laughter seems to grow louder by the millisecond. this is a highly inappropriate time to laugh, but jinx tends to cackle at very odd times. she could get kicked and stomped on by many, and she'll still somehow laugh through it all. ]
