And he knew that unleashing his relentless rage on the fellow Chosen he would only be digging his own grave. They would all come back and no doubt cast their own judgement on him. So, he listened to his lover's words, knowing them to be true. The phantom touch of the fingertips traveling along his bare skin sending a light shivers down his spine. It wasn't like he hadn't tried to blend in, learning the language and custom of these people, expanding his understanding and trying to grow sympathetic towards them. But it was an uphill and Richard knew it.
