[For someone who prided themselves on their personal extreme control of himself and situations, these mood swings were often maddening for him as well. He refused to consider it any more than the season or the uncertainty that he too may disappear and cease to exist. Yes that was all it was. He was stressed Jinx wasn't here and he didn't have enough control to force this place to bring her back.
He had noticed Richard's absence, and that only served to sour his mood further. He had grown used to living with someone and while he enjoyed being an introvert most of the time, he annoyed him that his lover withdrew from him when he probably (but wouldn't admit) he needed him the most. Self reflections of the effects his moods had was not something he bothered with.
So he eyed Richard for the seemingly sudden appearance here. Richard was not particularly confrontational socially, not like Silco who would pick fights because he felt like it. He sat his papers on the edge of the desk but still in easy reach if Richard decided to simply leave again.
Slowly, as if to provide some clue to his current mood of being willing to accept affection and return it tonight, he pushed his chair back a little so there was room for Richard to slip in between him and his desk. He expected Richard would simply sit there as the younger man had done numerous times before.]
Does it? [He folded his hands in his lap, providing his lover with his attention.] Will it be difficult to chase you off if I was inclined to?
