Yes, it was his own actions that caused all the crap last month, including his own death, but while he was all gung-ho about accepting it and taking responsibility at the time, now that he's back to life he realizes that having to face the people who'd been affected by his actions is way worse than dying. In a sense, staying dead would've been an easy way out... so of course he couldn't count on it. He's already contacted Jinx, and that went... better than expected, all things considered? Though he's still wrecked with guilt for putting her through all that. Next up is her old man, and he's not looking forward to this one.
